Please note that all prices on the web page are valid ONLY
for bookings made online. This applies to the car rental,
optional insurances and extras like child seat etc. For extensions,
extras purchased after arrival etc the car rental partner
can charge a different amount. All prices on the web page
are in EURO.
-- Delivery information --
For airport pick-ups, it is essential that Open Holiday be
given the correct flight number and arrival time, before departure.
For pick up in ports we require the name of the ferry and
the time of arrival. For hotel delivery we need the name of
the hotel and if available also telephone number and address
of the hotel.
If this information is not available at the time of booking,
please inform us of this at least 7 days prior to departure
online or by telephone which you will find on your voucher.
Should this information not be provided in time; Open Holiday
can accept no responsibility or compensation for a failed
rental.
-- Payment method --
You can pay with the most common credit cards like Visa and
Master card.
When you make a reservation you will be asked to make a small
down payment.
The outstanding balance you will pay with credit card upon
delivery of your car.
Cash payment is only rarely accepted.
-- Order Process --
In order to book your car, you simply have to follow the 4
easy steps from the "car rental" page. When you
have confirmed your order, you will be taken to a secure online
payment form where you will be asked for your credit card
details.
When your payment is approved from the bank of Open Holiday,
you will receive a preliminary confirmation. The reservation
amount will only be reserved on your account, and the final
transaction will be made in the same moment as we send your
voucher.
Your final voucher will be sent to you by e-mail within 48
hours of the booking.
-- Out of hour charges --
In most locations flights/ferries can be met and cars supplied
outside of normal working hours. However, there may be an
additional charge for this which you will see when you fill
in the booking details.
The cost will be quoted when your flight/ferry timings are
given to us. In the event that a flight/ferry is delayed or
any other reason causing the car pick-up to fall outside of
normal working hours, the additional charge will be made locally,
where the out of hours service is available.
-- Tax --
In most locations, all taxes are included except those on
any extras purchased locally. e.g. one-way drop-off fees,
child seats and additional drivers, which are not reserved
at the time of booking. Detailed information will be found
under the specifics for this location.
-- Delivery of the Rental Car --
Normally there will be a representative or a shuttle service
that will bring you to the nearest rental station or the car
will be ready for you at the airport/port. When picking up
your car at the hotel, the car will be delivered or a shuttle
service will bring you to the nearest rental station. Detailed
information will be shown throughout the booking process.
A charge for delivery and collection may apply and will be
advised on booking if applicable. Collection is normally made
at the airport or local office.
-- Driver’s age
--
For most countries the minimum age of the driver is 21 to
25 years, higher vehicle categories may even require an age
exceeding 25 years.
Maximum age is normally 75 years.
-- Driver’s License
--
Drivers must produce a full driving license held for at least
one year. In addition to the driver’s license, a valid
passport or ID card and in some cases an international driving
license has to be presented at the reception of the vehicle.
In certain locations and for some car types, drivers must
have held a full license for a minimum of 2 years. Detailed
information will be found under the "specifics for this
location". It is the driver’s responsibility to
ensure that he/she has the appropriate driving license.
No refunds will be given for rentals rejected due to non-production
of a driving license.
Faxed or photocopied licenses are not acceptable.
-- Period of rental
--
Rental days are based on a 24-hour basis, commencing at the
time in the voucher. Open Holiday allows up to 3 hours delay
in return time without calculating an extra day.
In case of delayed flight etc we allow a change in delivery
time of up to 3 hours, which means your rental period can
start and be calculated 3 hours later than on the reservation.
There will be no extra cost for this except if the out of
hour charge should apply.
-- Amendments
--
All amendments must be made through the customer log in page.
There is no amendment fee if Open Holiday has the amendment
at least 5 days prior to arrival.
Cancellations
All cancellations must be made through the customer log in
page. For cancellations more than 5 days prior to arrival
all your deposit will be paid back and there will be no other
costs, except those that might occur due to exchange rates.
For cancellations 5 days or less prior to arrival, the deposit
will not be refunded. There is though a maximum amount of
50 euro which can be kept by Open Holiday.
Cancellations/ Amendments after the starting of the rental
period will be handled locally by the car rental partner on
your destination. Open Holiday is not responsible for any
changes in pricing that might occur.
No refunds will be made for no-shows at destination or failure
to produce relevant documents including driving license, early
returns or cancellations after the hire start date.
There are no refunds for any unused days.
-- Rental documents
--
The rental voucher must be presented when picking up your
rental car. Open Holiday cannot be held responsible for rentals
rejected if a voucher is not presented.
You should retain your rental documents and related receipts
for a minimum of 28 days after returning home.
-- Car type/suitability
--
Open Holiday will make every effort to reserve a specific
type of vehicle, whenever this can be possible, we are unable
to guarantee a particular make, model or fuel of car.
Reservations can only be confirmed according to vehicle categories
and not according to the car model. The named cars serve as
typical examples for the size and performance of a vehicle
category.
-- Number of passengers --
Our rental cars are insured for a maximum number of passengers.
Open Holiday cannot accept responsibility if the vehicle is
not large enough to fit all passengers and luggage on arrival.
In the interest of safety this number must not be exceeded
and if exceeded the insurance will be invalidated.
-- Provision of cars
--
Our local provider can refuse to provide a car to any customer
who is, in their opinion, unfit to drive or does not meet
eligibility requirements. In such circumstances the agreement
with Open Holiday will terminate immediately, and Open Holiday
will have no further liability to the customer, and no refund
will be due.
The local car rental partner on site reserves the right of
procuring a vehicle of a higher category whenever the booked
vehicle category should not be available. If you have booked
a prestige car, the specific car booked is guaranteed.
If you are dissatisfied in any way with the standard of your
booked car, you must advise our local car rental partner immediately
and Open Holiday in writing within 28 days of your return.
Failure to do so may result in any claims not being accepted
or settled by Open Holiday.
-- Liability --
Open Holiday assumes no liability for actual rentals, which
do not come about due to reasons for which the hirer is responsible.
Such reasons are for example:
-failing to present a driver’s license or presenting
a driver’s license which is no longer valid
-non-compliance with regulations concerning the minimum or
maximum age
Please note that the rental of the vehicle will be subject
to the law of the country where the rentals takes place.
Open Holiday will not be held responsible for anyone driving
under the influence of alcohol/drugs, causing wilful damage,
off road driving or driving without due care and attention.
The customer will accept responsibility in respect of such
claims.
Local laws govern the terms and conditions of hiring vehicles
and the rental contract signed locally on collection of the
car is legally binding on the hirer.
All reservations are made by Open Holiday and all coupons
and vouchers are issued by the company in their capacity as
agents/intermediaries for the principals supplying the relevant
services, upon the expressed condition that Open Holiday is
not responsible to the hirer for loss, damage, delay, injury,
accidents, cancellation, alterations, irregularity or additional
expenses suffered by the hirer whatsoever.
-- Consequential loss --
Open Holiday is responsible for losses the client suffers
as a result of Open Holiday breaking this agreement if the
losses are a foreseeable consequence of Open Holiday breaking
the agreement. Open Holiday is not responsible for indirect
losses which happen as a side effect of the main loss or damage
and which are not foreseeable by the client and Open Holiday
(such as loss of profits or loss of opportunity).
-- Force Majeure --
Open Holiday shall not be liable for either a failure to perform
or delay in performing any of its obligations under or pursuant
to this booking if and in so far as performance is delayed,
hindered or prevented by force majeure, which expression shall
mean any event beyond the reasonable control of the party
in question.
-- Special requests --
Child seats: these are mandatory in most countries and must
be requested at the time of booking. Although instructions
will be provided you will be required to fit the child seat
yourself.
Please take note that especially in Mediterranean countries
the safety standards for child safety seats may differ from
the standards you are used to in your country. (Taking along
your own safety seats for children and babies is recommended).
Roof racks and ski racks: these are available in some locations
and should be specially requested at the time of booking.

-- Across the border rentals --
These are normally not allowed, but can be requested at the
destination.
Any extra costs that might occur will be advised by the car
supplier.
-- Ferrying the rented car
--
Is normally allowed within the same country, but must be requested
at your destination.
Any extra costs that might occur will be advised by the car
supplier.
-- Additional drivers
--
In many locations one additional driver is free of charge.

-- Insurance
--
Third party insurance is included in most locations and covers
third person and passengers towards property damages and bodily
injuries.
Fire and theft insurance is included in most locations.
In most locations is the CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) included
in the basic price. This means that the car is insured towards
collision damages also caused by the renter, but with an excess
amount to pay. You will be required to leave a deposit to
the value of any insurance excess, which may be charged by
our car rental partner, if the car is damaged during the rental.
If purchased at the time of booking the FDW (Full Damage Waiver)
will cover you for damage excess.
-- Insurance exclusions --
The FDW does not cover damage to wheels, tires, windows, the
roof, the underside, the interior of the car, towing charges
or damage caused willfully or recklessly. You may therefore
be liable for the cost of this damage.
In some destinations there is an additional insurance also
for this, WUG, which can be purchased at the time of the booking,
please see under "extra options".
PAI (personal accident insurance) for driver can also be purchased
extra in most locations.
The PAI is although probably already covered in your Travel
Insurance.
Super Cover Insurance is an additional option that covers
the FDW, the WUG and the PAI, which is available in some locations.
